Palace Walls

I am outside the Palace Walls desiring to enter in

I am outside the Palace Walls because of my great sin

Separated from the KING

from His majesty

from His splendor

Separated from the KING

I am filled with the

longing to enter

I ask to enter, I am bidden to come

my knees are weak, my feelings are numb

The KING desires my company

a thing I cannot comprehend

HE is perfect in all His ways

while I am flawed

I have sinned.

I am ushered into His throne room

I am awed by all I see…

the Prince of Peace descends the steps and comes to welcome me.

He wraps me within His tender embrace

He strokes my hair and kisses my face

The Dam is broken…

a torrent of tears…

Pain of the past kept hidden for years

out of sight, out of mind

the human philosophy that

makes one blind

all melting, melting,

melting away…

He stroked my hair and asked me to stay

Light has come

Darkness has passed

depths of my soul

rejoicing at last

I am inside the Palace Walls

I have entered in

I am inside the Palace Walls

He has erased my sin.

I write to soothe my soul. I empty my words onto napkins, scraps of paper, receipts... anything really. When I was very young my mom told me to stop writing on my hand. I never did. I write on it to this day. I’ve lost so many scraps of Self on soggy napkins; I’ve yet to lose my hand. The words I scribble there may wash off, but since they are inscribed in my soul, once they are released, from heart to hand, I am allowed to let them go.
